We are an independent practice founded by Hema Desai.

Hema grew up in Australia and completed a Bachelor in Health Sciences (Speech Pathology) at Charles Sturt University, Australia in 2001. She worked in various settings in Melbourne before moving to London in 2008 where she worked for the National Health Service and later at a specialist independent school for children with Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia).

Hema has completed the Level 5 Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia) and the Level 7 Diploma in Teaching and Assessing Learners with Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia). She founded Connect: Literacy, Speech and Language Services in 2011, which is now a thriving clinic in South West London supporting children with dyslexia to achieve their potential.

In 2022, Hema expanded the practice to Melbourne’s South-Eastern and Bayside suburbs.
