Web-Based Teaching

Information and Consent Form

We are glad that you have chosen to continue your child’s sessions with us via web-based teaching.

We will be using the video conferencing platform ‘Zoom’ to deliver these sessions. A password will be required to access all meetings. You will be sent an email containing a meeting invitation. When you click on this link you will automatically be accepted into the teaching room.

Your child’s specialist teacher/speech therapist will discuss the length of the session with you.

The cost of the sessions will remain the same as your face to face sessions. If it is a shorter session this will be calculated accordingly. During school closures you may wish to book in for additional sessions. If so, please discuss this with your specialist teacher.

Your specialist teacher/therapist will keep a record of your lessons and you will be invoiced at the end of the month. You may have some sessions remaining from your previous invoice which you can use first.

Zoom is compliant with data protection legislation (GDPR).

In order to access ‘Zoom’ you will need:

  • A computer, laptop or iPad/tablet connected to the internet. Although you can access ‘Zoom’ on your mobile phone this is not ideal.

  • Ensure your child has a quiet, comfortable space to work in and is sat at a table.

  • It would be useful for your child to have an exercise book or paper, pencils, rubbers, pens, marker pens and a printer. If you have a mini whiteboard and white board marker this may also be useful.

  • Please notify your teacher if you do not have any of this equipment, particularly a printer as you may be required to print out some resources.

  • You may be asked to provide some additional equipment based on the lesson plan. Your teacher will communicate this with you before the session to give you time to prepare.

  • Depending on the age of the student, parent participation may be required during the session – particularly to support with technology if required.
